Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about purchasing, installing, licensing, and using products from Hive Glyph.

Buying and downloads

What will I receive after purchasing?

You receive the digital files listed on the product page for the product and license selected during checkout. Your order details show where the available files can be accessed.

What should I do if a file is missing or damaged?

Contact us with your order number, the product name, and a short description of the problem. We will verify the order and help replace or correct an eligible file.

Font installation

Which font format should I install?

Use the OTF or TTF files supplied for desktop installation. WOFF and WOFF2 files are webfont formats and should not be installed as desktop fonts unless the product documentation explicitly says otherwise.

Why is an installed font missing from my software?

Close and reopen the application after installing the font. If it is still missing, check for duplicate versions and confirm that the font was installed for the correct user or for all users.

Licensing

Am I buying ownership of the font?

No. You are purchasing permission to use the font under the selected license. Copyright and ownership remain with the creator or other stated rights holder.

Can I use a font for client work?

That depends on the selected license and how the files will be accessed or delivered. Read the applicable license before purchasing. A client may need a separate license if they will receive, install, or continue using the font files.

Can I upgrade a license later?

Contact Hive Glyph with the original order number and details of the new use. We will confirm whether an upgrade or a separate license is available.

Free fonts

Do all free fonts have the same license?

No. The applicable terms are displayed on each free-font page. Review and accept that specific license before downloading or using the files.

Can a free font be used commercially?

Only when the license shown on that font’s page permits commercial use. A zero price does not mean unrestricted use.

Creators

Who owns products published on Hive Glyph?

Ownership remains with the creator or rights holder identified on the product page unless a different arrangement is stated.

Can creators publish work on Hive Glyph?

Hive Glyph is being designed for independent creators, but the creator program is still being developed. Use the contact page for creator inquiries.
